To fully savour the elusive charm of Lapsang Souchong, perhaps one should begin with the very first infusion. As warm vapour rises from the purple clay teapot, the air fills with the delicate smokiness of pinewood, accompanied by the faint, profound fragrance of flowers and herbs. The crackling warmth of firewood in the hearth stands in contrast to the winter chill beyond the window. In a state of gentle inebriation, one becomes all the more aware of life’s fleeting nature. Wine warmed against the cold, tea simmering in a red pot, deep in mountains buried beneath thick blankets of snow. Winter seems to have no end.

Listen, as time itself becomes firewood, crackling softly through the stillness of the night. Each little pop seems to carry a whisper from years gone by.

As the wine warms and the tea brews in the red pot, the mind drifts into the distance. Fragments of the past, scattered shadows gathered up once more, linger gently in the heart.
